4. Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park

The Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park is one of Houston’s most beloved, iconic landmarks and a community centerpiece for visitors of all ages with its eye-catching water feature that has become an instantly recognizable symbol in the cityscape. To stand in the Waterwall’s mist and be enveloped by the gentle roar of cascading water is one of the most memorable experiences. The semi-circular wall of water is absolutely breathtaking. The black obsidian aggregate surface looks like an abstract painting in itself, and then you notice that there are concrete exterior ribs with Alamo Gray cement to make up this magnificent structure! The volume recycled inside the inner fountain system can hold 46,500 gallons.

5. Houston Zoo

The Houston Zoo is one of the most popular attractions in Hermann Park. More than 6,000 exotic and indigenous animals call this 55-acre site home! There’s an education center where you can learn all about them or enjoy a children’s zoo with interactive exhibits for kids aged 1 year old up. One highlight of the tour is feeding giraffes. You can also get up close and personal with marine life in an aquarium, or watch sea lions play underwater as otters swim around them.
